Take two minutes to join us in the fight to win safety, fair pay, and transparency for Uber and Lyft drivers in Chicago!

If you’re a driver who works in Chicago, please use this tool to send a letter to your alderman in support of our Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance. Then, leave your information in the signup form on this page, and an organizer will reach out to you about the changes you want to see in the rideshare industry.

If you’re not a driver, but you want to see your Uber and Lyft money land in your driver’s pocket rather than enriching a big corporation in California, send this letter from family, friends, and allies instead. If you live in Chicago, your letter will go to your alderman and the mayor. If you don’t live in Chicago, it will just go to the mayor. Thanks! It will take two minutes.

We are gig workers working together.

Chicago Gig Alliance believes that the workers who give Chicago’s rides, walk Chicago’s dogs, deliver Chicago’s packages and meals, and much more deserve a fair share of the gig economy.

Join us in the fight for fair treatment, benefits, and worker protections!

Introducing the Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance

Rideshare drivers demand passage of the Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance to protect drivers’ safety on the job, January 2024

Read our brief about the ongoing deactivation crisis facing Chicago rideshare drivers here.

With support from Alderman Mike Rodriguez (22nd Ward), rideshare drivers united in the Chicago Gig Alliance have taken a significant step toward regulating Chicago’s predatory and anti-worker rideshare industry by introducing the Rideshare Living Wage and Safety Ordinance at Chicago’s City Hall. This ordinance will create safety standards for drivers, create a transparent investigation and appeals process to prevent drivers from unfair deactivations, and guarantee a living wage for drivers without raising fares for passengers by capping the amount of money these corporations can skim from each ride. You can read more about the ordinance here.
